“You have brains in your head,
You have feet in your shoes;
You can steer yourself in any
Direction you choose.
You’re on your own,
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”
                                                                         Dr.Seuss
Reflection:
After everything, the decision always comes down to us. What we do is what we decide on our own to do, not because someone told us but because we want too. Where we end up is because of the choices we decided to take. We decide where we go not anyone else.

                Trauma Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
Trauma nursing includes responding quickly to a wide variety of single- and multisystem trauma relating different patient needs, ages, cultures, and severity of presenting symptoms. The trauma nurse must respond with certainty and clearness to unexpected events by evaluating, intervening, and stabilizing patients about whom there is slight information.
Salary:
 $60,000 to $70,000
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree

Reflection:

I wouldn’t like to be a trauma nurse because they need to be prepared for anything at any moment and I am the type of person who tries to keep organized, although I fail at that. I believe I wouldn’t be available at all times in case of an emergency which wouldn’t be a good thing for such duty.

Obedience
“When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block.”
                `
                                                                                James E. Faust
Reflection:

If we’re always obedient it won’t be a must anymore instead it’ll become a daily thing to do without one even trying. Being obedient will become a way of living. If we are obedient and choose the right, obedience will help us be successful and we could enjoy our life due to the right decisions we chose.
Cardiologist
Duties and responsibilities:
Cardiologists are also called for assistance in hospital settings when a patient has a heart attack, serious arrhythmia or heart failure. As they are seldom the first physicians to see a patient, cardiologists must quickly review the patient's medical history and ask questions regarding symptoms.
Salary:
Cardiologists who did not perform invasive procedures earned between $346,266 and $457,921 per year. Those who did perform invasive procedures had a salary range of $373,500 to $532,000.
Education:
In order to become a cardiologist must graduate from medical school, complete a residency and become board-certified in internal medicine, and then complete a fellowship in cardiology. Cardiology residencies typically last three years, and fellowships are a minimum of three years, making at least six years of training beyond medical school.

Reflection:

I wouldn’t like to be a cardiologist because the medicine subject isn’t my thing. I wouldn’t like to perform such things to the heart. Cardiologists are important for they in a way help out one of my relatives. They have high blood pressure so they must always be checking up on their heart rate of all sorts.

“Obedience is the great test of life”

                                                                Thomas S. Monson
Reflection:

Although I don’t fully believe this quote, I can somewhat agree to it. Anytime in life we’re always being tested. Whether we’re going to pay attention or if we’re not. Whether we’re going to obey and follow the rules or if we’re not. We can’t always be choosing the wrong, for it will only lead you through a bad path. It’s basically what we choose what to do with our life and how we’re going to live it. Obviously, if we choose the right then we can have a bright future ahead of us.
Biomedical engineer
Duties and responsibilities:
This profession requires teamwork, speaking skills and technical writing ability. They help treat patients. Biomedical engineers are responsible for developing medical instruments. They work along with doctors and scientists to research answers to medical questions. Biomedical engineers take their research findings and develop models to help others understand human or animal behavior.
Salary:
Median $51,490
Education:
Biomedical engineering students should take high school science courses, such as chemistry, physics, and biology. They should also take math courses, including calculus. Courses in drafting or mechanical drawing and computer programming are also useful.

Reflection:

I don’t think I would like to be a biomedical engineer. I have no real reason why. Although, it does seem interesting I feel like it wouldn’t be my thing.

“Obedience is central to becoming, being, and remaining happy.”

                                                David Bednar
Reflection:

I disagree with this quote. Obedience isn’t always central to being happy. Because one has to always obey they don’t really have their choice and get to do what they want. For example what if a person is forced to do what they must but aren’t really happy doing it? Are they supposed to remain unhappy and still obey?
Lawyers
Duties and responsibilities:
Since each country has different laws, lawyers should understand the laws governing the country where they practice the profession. As a lawyer one must always have Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case communication with their clients. Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
Salary:
Lawyers earned a median salary of $113,530 in 2012, according to the BLS. The best-paid earned more than $187,999, while the lowest-paid made approximately $54,310.
Education:
Aspiring lawyers must complete law school. Applying to law school requires graduating from a bachelor's degree program and, in nearly all cases, taking the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).

Reflection:

I might actually consider becoming a lawyer because I hate when justice isn’t made. I love to prove people wrong, not in a twisted way. I’ve noticed that I’m able to defend people if I know they’re speaking the truth. They also make a good amount of money which a good thing.

Reggie Bush
Reggie Bush best player to ever play in USC didn't choose the right because he accepted gifts. It’s against NCAA for players to accept gifts or payments from the college. He got everything taken away and the 12 wins he had that year became 12 losses. It was a shame and disappointment for himself and the people that supported him.

                                Autogenic Training
Duties and Responsibilities:
The technique involves the daily practice of sessions that last around 15 minutes, usually in the morning, at lunch time, and in the evening. During each session, the practitioner will repeat a set of visualizations that induce a state of relaxation. Each session can be practiced in a position chosen amongst a set of recommended postures (for example, lying down, sitting meditation, sitting like a rag doll). Autogenic training is relaxation technique that utilizes self-suggestion, breathing exercises, and meditation.
Salary:
$81,823-$106,369
Education:
Autogenic training is not currently regulated by law in the UK meaning there are no set guidelines as to what training and experience is needed in order to practice as a therapist. However, practitioners do have the option of registering with a professional association that will usually have its own membership criteria and code of ethics, giving reassurance to those searching for a therapist that their practitioner is qualified, experienced and working to certain standards of good practice.

Reflection:

I wouldn’t want to be in autogenic training because although I know it will bring peace to me physically I have no patience. I do have patience but I feel it’s not enough for such duty. From what it sounds like autogenic training involves silence and I’m quite of a bit talker so I know from that, that working as an autogenic trainer won’t work out for me.

“The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have.”

                                                                                Boyd K. Packer
Reflection:

If we follow the rules and do as we say sooner or later we will have freedom to do as we please only after. For example for my English class if we pay attention in her class, concentrate, and do our work without talking, the teacher gives us a little break from the work we’ve done. We’ve earned the break from the work we have been doing. We're able to do as we wish only after you were obedient.
                Auricular therapy
Duties and responsibilities:
An acupuncture technician, often called an acupuncture detoxification specialist, performs an acupuncture treatment on five points of the ear. In traditional Chinese medicine, all illnesses are believed to be driven by an energy imbalance in the body. Acupuncture uses needles to balance the energy of the body's pathways.
Salary:
Salary Range $38,000 – $137,000
Education:
You will need to participate in a program certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). As an acupuncture technician, you may find work in detox and rehabilitation programs, mental health facilities, halfway houses and correctional facilities.

Reflection:

I wouldn’t like to work as an auricular therapist because it takes a lot of nerves to do it. Also because one always has to be exact in where to insert such things. I don’t have a lot of patience so it wouldn’t really work with me.

“The key to freedom is obedience.”

                                                                                Boyd K. Packer
Reflection:

If we listen to what were supposed to do and do what were supposed to do soon well be able to do what we want. After you prove to people that your able to do as they say they’ll begin to give you a bit of bit a freedom slowly by slowly. By choosing the right and doing as were told we would feel good and our conscious wouldn’t be as bad. It’s better to know that you can do something instead of hiding and watching out because you can’t do it.
                Obedience
What is obedience?
Obedience is an act or instance of obeying. Listening to one and doing as they. Simply following the rules. Or following a command without questioning it (or questioning it, but doing it anyway regardless).
Synonyms:
Compliance
 Conformity
 Submission
 Subordination
<The drill sergeant demanded complete and unquestioning obedience from the recruits>
<The cowardly obedience with which the dictator's henchmen followed his every command>
<An obedient student would be quiet, the moment his/her teacher told him to do so, even if he/she really wanted to continue talking across the classroom.>

                911 Memorial
911 was a very devastating day for many people including families. It was a normal day for many in the beginning just bordering a plane either for work or vacation or just to visit a relative. But as the day continued, everything became a mess. As people left to work the thought of it being there last day didn’t cross their mind. It was just a typical day. Until people that were attending certain planes began calling people down on earth and warning them that the plane there in was getting hijacked. Some people weren’t able to answer not knowing that was the last time they were ever going to hear their voices, yet some people did. A plane first crashed onto the north twin tower and then the south tower. Thousands of people were killed that day. There were other places that were crashed too. Police officers and firefighters that were just taking orders and doing their jobs helping people out in order to escape, yet they ended up dying too. For Islamic people it was a great accomplishment from their eyes. Osama Bin Laden was claimed to be the one who planned 911 out.
There were people who survived because they were late to work. Some people were sick, couldn’t catch the bus, or simply stopped by at a certain store but whatever it was, thanks to that they are still ALIVE. I honestly learned from this that whenever I forget something or something happens I know I’m meant to be in that place for either good or bad.

                Student success statement
“What you are as a person is far more important that what you are as a basketball player.”

                                                                                John Woodens
Reflection:

Who we really are is what really matters. If one chooses to become a basketball player well then good for them. But they must always keep in mind that the career of being a basketball player will only last until a certain age until you must retire. Being what you choose to do may be you but who you really are is what gets you to places. Who you are/were is what will matter someday.
Athletic Trainer
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment. Care for athletic injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and medication. Evaluate athletes' readiness to play, and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted. Keep progress of an athlete’s injury.
Salary:
$35,000 to $75,000 per year
Education:
The minimum requirement for most athletic trainer positions is a bachelor's degree, but many of these professionals have a graduate degree.

Reflection:

Taking the career of an athletic trainer isn’t a bad idea. I would have to consider it a few times. I would take this job because while helping an athlete out with their physical injuries from time to time I will be able to motivate them from time to time and keep them going.

Anesthesiologist
Duties and Responsibilities:
An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor who cares for a patient before, during and immediately after a surgical or medical procedure. They administrate appropriate anesthesia and monitor the patient for reactions and complications, ensure comfort, and manage pain. The anesthesiologists explain the process so the patient knows what to expect. During the procedure, the anesthesiologist carefully monitors the patient's vital signs and comfort and makes the appropriate adjustments in anesthesia.
Salary;
$110,000 - $120,000
Education:
Prospective anesthesiologists must finish a four-year bachelor's degree before medical school. After the bachelor's degree, an anesthesiologist needs a professional degree as an M.D., doctor of medicine, or D.O., doctor of osteopathy. After the medical degree, anesthesiologists must complete a residency in anesthesiology to become specialists.

Reflection:
I wouldn’t like to be an anesthesiologist because they are to be involved in surgeries. I wouldn’t like to see more than I see in the outside body. If I were to be in a situation where I would have to manage pain I feel I would kind of be freaked out or be too rough on the patient.

“Relentless, Repetitive Self-Talk Is What Changes Our Self Image.”
                                                            Denis Waitley

Reflection:

Why do we care about what people think? What they’re opinion about us is, isn’t important. It’s good to know from time to time but it honestly doesn’t matter! What we think about ourselves is what matters. If we have positive vibes towards one self our self-image would be good! If we think of ourselves in a negative way it won’t take us anywhere. The way we think about ourselves is what keeps us going, it’s our self-image. So think of yourself in good ways! Produce good vibes !
                Ambulance Dispatcher
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ambulance dispatchers work in emergency communication centers. Dispatchers must be available around the clock, so they often have to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime and long shifts—sometimes 12 hours—are common. The pressure to respond quickly and calmly in alarming situations can be stressful. As an ambulance dispatcher you will answer the 9-1-1 telephone calls and Dispatch Paramedic Ambulances.
Salary:
The median annual wage for ambulance dispatchers was $36,300 in May 2012
Education:
Ambulance dispatchers have a high school diploma. Many states require dispatchers to become certified.
Reflection:
I wouldn’t like to be an ambulance dispatcher because I’m not an organized person.  With all the pressure and organization needed I would often stress out. Answering the 911 calls seems to have a lot of tension because all those calls are serious. I would have to maintain calm and not get attached to any of the caller’s situation in case of the worse.
