Dental lab technician
Duties and responsibilities:
A dental lab
technician (also called dental technician) works closely with the dentist, who
plans the treatment and places the restoration or corrective device in the
patient's mouth. The technician's great challenge is to capture and recreate
both the perfection and the imperfection of the patient's own teeth, so his or
her smile looks completely natural.
Salary;
$25 - $50,000 range
Education:
·
Two-year program at a community college,
vocational school, technical college, university or dental school.
·
Graduates
of these programs receive either an associate degree or a certificate.
·
There
also are a few programs that offer a four-year baccalaureate program in dental
technology.
Reflection:
I wouldn’t like to work as a dental lab technician because
it doesn’t interest me in any way. I wouldn’t like to work with peoples teeth
for I find it a little disturbing.
