“Right is right only when entire.”

                                                                                Victor hugo
Reflection:

By choosing the right you must do the whole thing rather than just partially. Something must not be done half done and the rest left. You can always choose the right if you commit yourself to do it. For example if you go home late and you tell your mom part of the truth and part a lie then you are not doing the right thing because you are using 50% 50%. Technically speaking you’re lying yet still speaking the truth which in reality doesn’t count a lot.

“In life as in football, you won’t go far, unless you know where goalposts are”

                                                                Arnold H Glasgow
Reflection:

In order to succeed you must have goals in your life. As the example Arnold used in football you won’t go anywhere or do much if you don’t have a place to score/ make a touchdown.  Our life is like football. In football you have the opposing team trying to take you down while in life there’s obstacles you have to face and defeat in order to keep on going. It won’t be easy but you’ll get to where you’re striving.
                History of basketball
Ø  Who invented basketball?
James Naismith invented basketball
Ø  Where?
While working at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts
Ø  When?
1891
Ø  Why?/how?
Dr. Naismith had been challenged to create a new game that could be played indoors in the cold Massachusetts winters to provide an “athletic distraction” to a disruptive group of students. With a two-week deadline, Dr. Naismith decided to invent a game of skill, finesse and accuracy, rather than one that relied on pure strength
Ø  What were the circumstances at the beginning?
Using a soccer ball, two peach baskets placed 10 feet up in the air, nine players on each team and a set of 13 basic rules, Dr. Naismith invented the game of “basketball.”
Ø  What was it like at the start?
Initially, players could only advance the ball by passing it. Bouncing the ball along the floor
Ø  What types of shots were taken?
Players earned points by successfully tossing the soccer ball into the peach baskets. After each basket that was made, players had to climb a ladder to retrieve the ball from the basket
Ø  How is basketball different today than when it first started?
When basketball first started dribbling didn’t exist yet, for they played basketball by only passing the ball. Another way basketball has changed is that the basket now has a hole under it (hoop) instead of having to get a ladder to get the ball out every time someone would make a basket.

Video reflection:

I found this video being really nice. It’s showing great example of a teenage 15 year old guy being responsible overall. The thought that he was willing to give up his band money to give it to one of his dad’s victims is very poignant.  Christian’s dad has been to jail various times causing him to think whether he was going to end up like his dad. At the thought of it, he realized he didn’t and decided to apologize for his dad’s action. If Christian didn’t apologize, no one would’ve. He is a great example because he shows honesty and responsibility of his character.
“Only those live who do good.”

                                                                                Count Leo Tolstoy
Reflection:

If you choose the right you can be guaranteed with a virtuous life in front of you. Good things will come your way leading to a very prosperous life with many years to live.  If you’re always doing badly then you’re not going to be living a good life because you won’t feel upright about yourself and there will always be a sense of guilt following you around.

Although it seems interesting to learn about the ways of medicine, I wouldn’t like to be a western medicine doctor. I wouldn’t like to be a doctor because I have hope in becoming something else when I grow up.
